As a dedicated chorus member for many years, former alto Elizabeth Pigford helped transform BCCO into what it is today through her efforts on the board of directors, particularly via her development of our fundraising efforts, finding our music director Ming Luke, and constantly striving to ensure BCCO had the resources to support new initiatives. When Betty retired from the chorus in 2016, she and her friends established the Betty Pigford Artistic Fund. The Fund supports special programs related to BCCO’s artistic and musical development. In 2017, monies from this fund were first used to launch our national search for early-career vocal soloists, a program that would have been difficult to support out of BCCO’s regular budget without this additional source of funding.
We invite you to donate to the Fund to honor Betty and to help BCCO to continue to enhance our programming and artistic support. Donate online via the button below, or send your check to BCCO, P.O. Box 310, Berkeley, CA 94701. Please make the check out to BCCO and write “Betty Pigford Artistic Fund” on the memo line or at the top of your check. Thank you!
