For over 50 years the Berkeley Community Chorus & Orchestra (BCCO) has offered free performances of great choral masterworks.  On June 9 – 11  BCCO continues this tradition with a performance of Elijah, the magnificent oratorioby Felix Mendelssohn. The FREE performances will be held at Hertz Hall on the UC Berkeley Campus 

Friday June 9 at 7:30 pm
Saturday June 10 at 3:00 pm
Sunday June 11 at 3:00 pm.

One of Mendelssohn’s most celebrated works, the oratorio tells the story of thebiblical prophet Elijah. Scenes from Elijah’s lifevary from the terrifying to the serene, from earthquakes and drought, to comforting angels, and a fiery chariot ride to heaven.
The soloists performing with the chorus and full orchestra are:

Ellen Leslie, soprano
Emily Skilling, mezzo soprano
Brian Thorsett, tenor
Efrain Solis, bass

We will raise the roof at Hertz Hall with this moving work of faith and hope.  The concert is FREE,but reservations are required and will be available at the BCCO websitebcco.orgstarting May 9.
