Margaret Martin is thrilled to be the conducting apprentice for BCCO. She is no stranger to the chorus, having participated in both international tours, alongside her parents and brother, who are current BCCO singers. Margaret has been singing on stage since the age of four, most recently in the Lamplighters Music Theatre’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Yeomen of the Guard.
During her ten years in the San Francisco Girls Chorus, she studied music theory with Eric Choate, BCCO’s former assistant conductor. That music theory class sparked a love for composition that she is pursuing at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is currently a junior at San Francisco University High School, where she plays violin in the chamber orchestra and sings in the a cappella group. She studies conducting with Marika Kuzma and is delighted to be mentored by Ming Luke.
