BERKELEY COMMUNITY CHORUS & ORCHESTRA POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra, a 180-voice, non-auditioned adult community chorus with a 40-year history of musical growth and success, is seeking an experienced and dynamic part-time Music Director to lead us in presenting free concerts of the great choral masterworks. The successful candidate will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of our long-time Music Director Arlene Sagan after the spring concerts in May 2011.

The BCCO Board of Directors initiated a search process as of April 5, 2010 and encourages all qualified applicants to respond by the September 1, 2010 deadline.

Minimum qualifications include:

• broad knowledge and understanding of the classical choral repertoire
• a degree in music or equivalent
• competence in conducting a large chorus with varied degrees of expertise
